It can soothe us after a long day, provoke new ideas when we feel stagnant, create needed emotional release, and help us understand our own feelings and experiences better.

We think we don't need art until our hearts break and there is only one song or poem that helps us put it back together. Or when we have had a stressful day and finally get to relax on the couch with our favorite film.
